Ask Hamdam on your device: the model and its download
Part of Hamdam Plus, and open during the first week of a new install.
Ask Hamdam does its work on your device. In English it uses Apple Intelligence on devices that have it. On a device without it that is quick enough, Hamdam can use its own on-device model in English as well.
In Farsi it uses Gemma 3 4B, a model of about 2 GB that Hamdam can download for you and that then runs on your device.
Step by step
Open Ask Hamdam. If your language or device needs the model, a card offers the download and calls it Hamdam's on-device model.
Tap Download when you want it. It comes from Apple, only when you choose, and carries on if you switch apps.
Check your data plan first. The download cannot be limited to Wi-Fi.
If your device is not quick enough, or you have not downloaded the model, Ask shows the entries that match your question instead of an answer.
The About screen in Your Hamdam shows the Gemma notice and links to Google's Gemma Terms of Use.
Worth knowing
- The Privacy and your data page says the same: the model is downloaded from Apple when you choose, and answers are made on your device.
- Ask Hamdam does not speak. Voice is not part of 2.1.
